Dapple Dandy Pluot Jam
I enjoyed the taste of Dapple Dandy pluots so much in an ice cream recipe that I decided to make a jam from the same fruit.
8C Dapple Dandy pluots (10 large fruit) 1/3C water 5 1/2C sugar 1 large lemon 1 pkg pectin
Pit and coarsely chop the pluots, then boil with the water until soft. Add the sugar and lemon juice, stir, then boil down for 25 minutes. Add the pectin and boil one more minute. then pack into sterilized jars and water process for 15 minutes.
I'd say I learned to cook at my grandmother's knee, but she was only 4'11" so I was never short enough for that. Still my love of cooking came directly from her and my love of gardening came from my grandfather. The two of them made me aware of the simple pleasures in life.
My blogging started as a way to share my grandmother's recipes with family and friends, and as a means to record my own original recipes which were never written down and therefore reinvented each time I made them.
